My aim as a teacher is certainly to develop in my students a deep perception and self-assurance at tests and managing to handle unfamiliar issues. The base of my ideology is the idea that learning develops in an atmosphere of mutual trust wherein the learner is encouraged to think and establish relationships for themselves. According to my practical experience one-to-one private lesson has a unique advantage to learners due to the option to break down the students' personal obstacles to learning in a way which sets the foundations for a thorough and lasting discovering of the course.
Student’s needs and learning style matter
My approach depends on the student's needs and learning style. However, my teaching theory is based on motivating scholars to think for themselves, using existing examples whenever they can. |My opinion is that it is necessary to supply scholars with a working skills and to exercise analytical skill-sets for development upon this knowledge. Training a person to think analytically is at the core of what a child have to take away from any subject class.
We learn through examples
Coaching scholars is one of the most long-lasting improvements a tutor can bring in, and it is a technique, which I find pleasurable and rewarding. From my experience, I discovered the value of involving scholars by means of models and of pitching material at a level that assumes comprehension and yet not necessarily knowledge, mixing the known with the unknown in a mix which delivers the student the sensation of probability instead of that of impossibility that impressive and authoritative ways may lay down.
How I teach
I start from questions the learners are familiar with and move regularly to more challenging areas while their confidence is being established. I employ examples and questions to confirm comprehending permanently. I don't ever lecture to children or tell them to memorise information. Nor do I accomplish the students' homework for them!
I basically prioritise test-style or past paper questions in order to test, exercise and improve the student's accepting and practice. I also give a lot of emphasis to a number of the less vital but obvious skills which include essay technique and structure, logical thought, and the powerful use of numbers and graphs.
